Greetings Everyone:
New Tank/Pressure
The new tank was filled, sanitized and tested for bacteria. We received notice from our water lab, that sample tests taken on two days last week were negative/clean. The State Water Resources Control Board (they oversee our activities) received the data and gave notice that we can begin using the tank. Tomorrow – Monday, we will set the final controls on the new tank and connect the tank and water to the system. With the new tank on line, you may notice an increase in water pressure. Our emergency tank is located at a lower elevation than the main tank location. The elevation difference and increased tank size will increase pressure at your property. We are guessing, (based on pressure before the fire), we may see about a 5-10 PSI increase. It may be enough in some cases to expose weakened or damaged water connections on properties to begin leaking.
With the new tank in use and increased pressure, we can begin pressure testing our hydrants. We anticipate having to replace some or all of them, depending on proximity to the fire.
We continue to excavate for the new residential water connections (new concrete boxes and valves). It’s taking longer than expected due to uncooperative roots and rocks.
Billing
Following four quarters of suspended billing, we are reinstating billing effective this quarter. The rate for this quarter will be as in the past – $190.00 per quarter. We hope to complete an analysis in the first quarter of 2019 (and reset the quarterly billing amount) of our financial needs, once it is clear what will be paid out by FEMA and our insurance carrier. This revenue is necessary to re-build, improve and manage the future system needs of our equally co-owned asset.
As physical addresses continue to change, we will bill via email. In the next week or so, you will get an email from our Treasurer – Tom Thelen – with the Q4, 2018 bill.

The current officers and Board Members of the Riebli Mutual Water Company elected for 2018 are:
